Obama authorized the
assassination of an American Citizen,
who was never tried or even charged with a crime. No charges or trial, no evidence is offered, nor any
opportunity for Anwar al-Awlaki to deny criminal accusations
(which he has
done vehemently through his family).
None of that.
We now have an accepted practice of the president assassinating
people, with no due process of any kind, who he thinks are bad
guys.
Assassinating American citizens without charges, we should think
very seriously about this.
Surely there has to be some operational constraint on the
executive when it comes to the killing of U.S. citizens.
It
is time to hold Bush accountable. The known
crimes and abuses of power committed by George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were more than enough to warrant impeachment proceedings.
Since no
action was taken before they left office, set a terrible and dangerous precedent.
We sent a message that, once elected to the highest offices in the land, you
can lie, cheat, break the law, and attack the Constitution with impunity. We choose to demand that our
leaders live by the rule of law.

"Nobel Peace Prize"

Instead of trying a "Shock and Awe of Diplomacy" tactic, he
preferred to kill more innocent middle eastern men, women, and
children.
Did anyone notice that he did not take the decision to attack Libya
before Congress to get approval?

Obama's PROMISE
To End The
War - Oct. 27, 2007 -
"You Can Take That To The Bank"
Obama's PROMISE
To close
Guantanamo Bay
Americans are
literally getting the Bush plan for Iraq, and Afghanistan, run by President Elect Obama.
In his campaign speeches, Obama promised to bring home all the American
combat troops from Iraq in 16 months, and to end the war in Iraq.
"I intend to remove all U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of 2011," Obama
said. Now that he’s been elected…well, he didn’t
really mean “END”, and he didn’t really mean bring all the “combat troops”
home. He just renamed them as training, support, security, etc., and
has now ordered 30,000 more troops to
Afghanistan.
Tens of thousands of American troops will remain in Iraq and continue to be
killed for years and years. Perhaps indefinitely, as
there is no longer the promised Democratic TIMELINE FOR WITHDRAWAL from
Iraq.
Obama said that if he is elected, he was going to close
Guantanamo, stop the torture, and restore the rule of law.
But after he was elected, Guess What?!? He didn't, and he is not going
to.
Nearly three years have passed
since Obama took office and no end to the U.S. wars of aggression are in
sight, in fact they are expanding. The “give him a chance” and “wait
and see” mentality of Obama supporters, who were promised an end to the
wars, is starting to wane. Now that Barack’s own supporters are
questioning his Bush era policies the anti-war movement must be revived,
and it’s long overdue.
When Obama campaigned for the Democratic presidential nomination in
Manchester, N.H., on June 22, 2007, he announced his "Sunlight Before
Signing" promise. "When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as the
president, you the public will have five days to look online and find out
what's in it before I sign it," he said.
However, Obama signed his first bill, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay
Restoration Act, on Jan. 20 – only two days after its passage. He
signed a second bill expanding the State Children's Health Insurance Program
just three hours after Congress passed it. Congress was given about
one hour to read the 1,000-page documents for the
$787 billion stimulus aimed at jolting the declining U.S. economy before
voting it into law. Obama then signed it only one
business day after it passed through Congress – without allowing for five
days of public comment.

"Information Clearing House" --- It could be argued that of the panoply of
evil of which human beings find themselves uniquely capable, nothing is as
abominable as the deliberate infliction of mental or physical pain on a
helpless captive person.
That a nation grandiosely
referring to itself as the world’s lone ‘superpower’ would, on the basis of
very thin manufactured evidence stoop to such behavior as using sodomy (even
against innocent children), cramming people into coffin-like boxes, chaining
them in stress positions, karate-kicking them (even to death), suffocating
them, slamming their heads into walls, taking away their clothing, freezing
them, using sensory deprivation and drowning, plus a hundred other cruel
measures gives the lie to that assertion. An evil power, certainly. Hardly a
‘shining city on a hill’.

FBI Blows

Turns out it is
really the handiwork of a creepy FBI informant. The story strengthens the
narrative that the "homeland" is under attack. It's not.
By now,
it's maddeningly familiar. A scary terrorist plot is announced. Then it's
revealed that the suspects are a hapless bunch of ne'er-do-wells or
run-of-the-mill thugs without the slightest connection to any terrorists at
all, never mind to Al Qaeda. Finally, the last piece of the puzzle: the
entire plot is revealed to have been cooked up by a scummy government
agent-provocateur.

Whether or not impeachment proceedings were taken before Jan.
20 was not the issue. The issue is whether we choose to demand that our
leaders live by the rule of law or plunder our nation at their will.

Contacting the Congress
The Bush administration
repeatedly and publicly lied to bring us into a devastating war that
funnels billions in profits to the private coffers of their corporate
allies, bringing us to economic collapse. They have
stripped away our rights and protections as citizens under the Constitution.
We all have a responsibility to write, phone, or email our representative in
Congress and demand that this administration be held accountable.
